The Oak Forest High School boys lacrosse team has achieved its best start in program history following a victory over Notre Dame College Prep on March 31.
According to the team's records, the Bengals improved to 4-0 with this win, marking a record-breaking period for the program, now in its eighth year. The team has achieved its highest totals for wins and goals scored while allowing the fewest goals through four games.
Senior Aidan Koleczek led the effort with four goals, while junior Gio Rizzo contributed two. Head coach Ryan Maurer praised the team's dedication. "The players have bought in, and their effort on and off the field is showing," Maurer said. "We’re excited about the momentum but know there’s still plenty of work to do."
The strong start has generated interest around the program, which has grown in size and competitiveness since its inception. The team is set to face Homewood-Flossmoor on April 2, aiming to extend its unbeaten streak.
With balanced scoring and a determined defense, Oak Forest is positioning itself as a contender this season—a promising sign for a team that has steadily climbed the ranks in Illinois high school lacrosse.
