The Oak Forest Bengals softball team delivered a decisive performance on Tuesday afternoon, defeating Tinley Park 9–1 in a home game. This victory highlighted the energy and execution that head coach Nick Fuentes has been advocating for throughout the season.
According to Fuentes, "This was the team we knew we could be." He emphasized that the team played with urgency, focus, and determination to rebound from previous challenges. The win improved their season record to 13–7.
Senior pitcher Melanie Andrysiak showcased an impressive two-way performance. She pitched a complete game, striking out 16 batters while allowing only one run. At the plate, she contributed significantly with a 3-for-5 performance and drove in two runs.
Kamryn Castillo led the offensive effort with a perfect 3-for-3 outing, including a triple. She scored four runs, added an RBI, and drew a walk, providing momentum at the top of the order.
Hailee Morin contributed to the team's success with a home run and three RBIs, helping to establish an early lead for the Bengals.
Fuentes noted that the victory was not solely about the final score but also about how his team played—tough, cohesive, and focused from start to finish.
