The Oak Forest High School girls' soccer team secured a decisive 7-0 victory against Chicago Christian on March 29, maintaining their strong start to the season.
According to the match report, Senior Riley Carone led the effort with two goals in the first 15 minutes following a switch to outside midfielder. Giana Carrera also scored twice, while Maddie Walsh, Maria Carrillo, and Sophie Chavez each contributed one goal.
Walsh played a crucial role throughout the game, providing three assists in addition to her goal. Additional assists were recorded by Carrillo, Alexa Nava, and Jozelynne Ramos.
Head coach Mike DaLuga praised the team's offensive performance. "The girls played well today and capitalized on some opportunities," he said. "We’re looking forward to seeing how our different offensive lineups start to click and mesh together."
Carone, Carrillo, and Walsh were recognized as the top performers of the game. DaLuga noted that Walsh’s consistent presence in midfield remains vital to Oak Forest’s attacking strategy.
The Bengals have improved their record to 3-2 this season and are set to face Crete-Monee on April 2 at 4:30 p.m. away from home. "We’re excited to keep building on this performance," DaLuga added. "This was a great step forward."
