Nava led the way for the Bengals with two goals and one assist, playing a key role in the team’s second win of the season. Maddie Walsh, a senior, added a goal, while assists also came from Lilly Everitt and Zdenka Majercak.
With the win, Oak Forest moves to 2-2 on the season under head coach Mike DaLuga.
“Our team played well today,” DaLuga said following the match. “We capitalized on some strong opportunities and did a great job connecting the ball from level to level. Freshman Alexa Nava and senior Maddie Walsh continue to find themselves in key positions and are consistently turning chances into goals.”
Nava and goalkeeper Gabby Razcka were named standout players. Razcka’s effort in goal helped limit Marian Catholic to one score, providing a steady presence on the back end.
The Bengals demonstrated control throughout the match, executing passes efficiently and maintaining offensive pressure. The result continues a strong stretch for Oak Forest as it works through its early-season non-conference schedule.
“We’re excited to keep building through our non-conference schedule as we prepare for conference play in two weeks,” DaLuga said.
Oak Forest returns to action on March 29 when it hosts Chicago Christian. The home match is scheduled to begin at 10:15 a.m.
The Bengals aim to carry their momentum into that game and continue improving as they gear up for the start of conference competition.
