Oak Forest boys show off skill at Celtic Quad Meet

The Oak Forest Bengals boys track and field team turned in a strong showing at the Celtic Quad Meet on April 1, highlighted by several top finishes across both track and field events.

In the 400-meter dash, August Crnich, a senior, claimed second place with a time of 56.17 seconds. Junior Collin Gentile followed closely behind in third at 56.85.

Oak Forest swept the 800-meter run, led by junior James Banialis (2:21.33), followed by sophomore Leviticus Bierlein (2:25.72) and freshman Cooper Griffin (2:30.80). The Bengals also dominated the 1600, where junior Nick Manso won in 4:48.68. Sophomore Hudson Neth and senior Christian Padgett completed the sweep.

In the field events, sophomore Enoch Olukolade won the high jump at 5 feet, 8 inches. Senior Matthew Anderson took second. Junior Luk Martin captured the triple jump title with a mark of 33-9.5.

Senior Osato Odiase had a standout day, winning both the discus (142-11.75) and shot put (42-7). Sophomore Louie Staszak placed second in shot put with 41-3.25.

The Bengals’ all-around performance highlighted their depth and potential as the season progresses.
