The Oak Forest softball team secured a decisive 11-0 victory over Bloom on Tuesday, March 25, marking their second win of the season. The team's performance was characterized by strong pitching and effective batting.
Senior pitcher Melanie Andrysiak played a pivotal role in the game, striking out 13 batters over six innings without allowing any runs. She also excelled offensively, achieving three hits in four at-bats, including a double and two RBIs. The Bengals collectively accumulated 11 hits and maintained an error-free defense.
According to head coach Nick Fuentes, "We are finding our rhythm as a team," adding that it was "an all-around good team win with no errors."
Imani Hogan contributed significantly to the lineup with two hits in four at-bats, including a home run and two RBIs. Addison McClure also added to the score with two RBIs, finishing one-for-three at the plate. The Bengals' offensive strength proved too much for Bloom from the outset.
Oak Forest is set to continue its promising start next week when they host Eisenhower on Thursday, April 2. With robust pitching, timely hitting, and solid defense, the Bengals are quickly settling into midseason form as they prepare for conference play.
